Louisa Cheatley is the assistant to the Chief of Staff at 7 News Melbourne and an aspiring television news reporter.
She will graduate with a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) from RMIT University in 2018. 

Louisa Cheatley is a final year journalism student and aspiring television news reporter based in Melbourne.

After completing a 5 week internship at 7 News Melbourne, Louisa was offered ongoing work as an assistant to the Chief of Staff, sourcing stories and occasionally picking up interviews for the nightly news. She also uses her time to practice piece to cameras, script writing and packaging news stories.

Since 2016, she has been studying a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at RMIT, and will graduate in December 2018.

As part of her studies, Louisa interned at the ABC 7.30 program, as well as 7 News Melbourne.

Louisa also volunteered as a television and radio reporter and presenter at 94.7 The Pulse in Geelong for 4 years before and during her studies. During her time, she developed and refined her skills in reporting, presenting, editing and interviewing.

She also hosted live television show 1700 on Channel 31, learning valuable skills about live broadcasting.

Louisa is skilled in areas such as interviewing, radio and television journalism, feature and hard news writing, photojournalism, editing video and audio content as well as hosting and presenting.

Louisa’s passion for news and telling people’s stories drives her to work hard, network and embrace any opportunity that she is offered.
